Organizations with recruitment videos, or career videos, that portray the company culture and discuss the importance of company values can put the applicant in the right state of mind before even applying. Whether you infuse these videos prior to requesting applications or during the preliminary interview process, you have the opportunity to influence job seekers without having to speak to them one-on-one. In the case of recorded video interviews, you can infuse recruitment videos into the greeting portion of the interview and then ask company culture-specific questions to determine their fit level, all before speaking to them directly. Similarly, you can request live virtual interview candidates to watch the video prior to joining the meeting and then discuss it afterward for a great conversation starter that sets the tone for the interview.

Consider cultural values in hiring decisions - Ultimately, the candidate has to be the right fit for the job for more reasons than just their qualifications. In order to excel in the environment, their attitude and values must align with the organization, and it’s up to the recruiter and the interviewers to set the tone for the company during interviews and evaluate how well the candidates relates to the company’s values. Otherwise, you’ll be right back there interviewing a new candidate for the job in no time.
